Frequently Asked Questions

What does Qualifying mean?

The Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) is a member of the CRPO who works with a supervisor, discussing client cases and treatment plans. To ensure ongoing learning and high-quality standards, CRPO supervisors provide additional experience and knowledge at no extra cost to the client. Confidentiality practices are upheld, and no identifying details are used when discussing cases.

Am I covered by insurance?

Psychotherapy is covered by most extended insurance plans but please check with your provider for specific coverage details. All sessions will be provided a payment receipt for submission to your provider.

Do you offer direct billing?

At this time, direct billing is not offered. Clients will make payments via cash or e-transfer at the appointment and an invoice will be provided for insurance reimbursement.

What is your cancellation policy?

Clients may cancel upcoming appointments with 24-hour’s notice with no penalty. Missed sessions or last-minute cancellations will be charged the regular session fee.

How do I make an appointment? Do I need a referral from my doctor?

Medical referrals are not necessary for psychotherapy sessions. Please contact me via email or phone to discuss appointment availability and suggested frequency. This will be tailored to your needs and preferences (i.e. in person or virtual).

What should I expect in the first session?

The first session will involve a detailed history and intake, including family life, current concerns, and other background information. Individual goals and accessible resources will also be discussed to help create your treatment plan.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of sessions varies from person to person and will be discussed in your first appointment.  Certain concerns and goals may require more frequent sessions, while some may have need for fewer sessions, spaced out over longer periods of time.

How long is each session?

Individual and couples sessions are 50-minutes long. Group sessions run for 90 minutes.
